So. How many times can you travel in how many cars that break down in how many ways? To quote professor owl, “The world may never know...1...too-hoo...three CRUNCH. Three.”

Three strikes and you’re out.

Laura and I are, like done with this whole break down thing. Having AAA? A godsend Enterprse Rent a Car? Pretty cool, too. Not having a car payment? It rocks. Breaking down in the middle of a seven hour trip? That spell time for a new car.

I can;t bring myself to (over)spend on a brand new car. I’ve never really liked the idea of buying form a dealer. I hate the idea of debt for a tool as untrustworthy and prone to destruction as a car. It all sounds pretty good right now.

I dunno what we’ll do. The Ford is bewing towed to our favorite repair guys in Syracuse. We’ll be shopping around in Rochester tomorrow.

Humph.

Mabe we should just stay home. Forever.

Dan and Molly’s lack of a computer...

Yesterday, I took all the photos off of Dan’s camera card, and made them a DVD, so they could get prints, etc. without having to have their computer running (which it’s not), or keep the card full (which it actually wasn’t).

I told Dan he didn’t need to erase them, since he’d only used up half of his two Gig card. Molly was psyched about the DVD - but looked a little nervous about not having the pics on the card. I told her I have a backup on my laptop...

Once we upgrade from our Mac Mini in the living room, I should really just give that one to them. They have to want it, though - cause I don’t want them frustrated or to give it away rashly... Maybe I need to think about it. Dan doesn’t care about having one, but Molly might write more...And they could do a ton with their photos, etc. Everybody needs iLife.

Porch posting

Is there such a thing as a good pet? Interesting. Kids always seem to think so. Okay. Well, it’s just a bit too chilly to sit here on the porch of the (not open!) coffee shop and type. I’m going back to Dad’s to get some java.

I realize, it looks like I’m smiling, but that’s just for the picture. Man it’s cold. I was hoping the place would be open. It’s Saturday, and they don;t open until 8:00! This is a coffee place... I guess everybody should get to sleep in.

There’s another lady siting here on the porch using the wireless. She says se has an office upstairs, yet none of her keys will open the building’s front door. She’s working on a float for the parade - Habitat for Humanity. She’s looking for a good tune to play. It should be upbeat, but have a good message. I suggested “Come Together” by Third Day. I told her they are a Christian Rock band, so I think that turned her off... We brainstormed for a few minutes, until she got excited about one. She’s over there playing 30 second samples on the iTunes Store.

I really need coffee.

Spent the day at Dan’s

Rainy throughout the day... That means Dan didn’t work. Saw some pics of his dry stone wall. The man’s got talent! I guess he’d better, since he keeps getting jobs over the big boys in town.

Molly and Dan bought Hank a parakeet for his birthday - “Lou”. Pretty interesting critter. More ‘fun’ than the gold fish, I guess. I can just imagine, that the kids will be wanting a bird, now. Humph.

So, Dad has the whole weekend off. That’s gonne be weird. I mean great. Wow. That did not sound right. I can;t ever remember him having both a Saturday and a SUnday off. I can;t ever remember him having the 4th of July off, either. It’s great!

Haven’t seen much of Matt, yet. Sharlotte’s at the park six days a week - even tomorrow. But I guess we’ll get Matt and the kids to come over.

Good fun - even without a plan... ahem.
